About the Edgemont Garden…

My name is Lindsey Horne and I spend my time in the garden on the hill in the little historic ghost town of Edgemont, NC.

In 2014 my husband, Derek, and I purchased the fixer-upper of a farmhouse we now call home.

The first time we experienced spring on the property, large patches of irises, roses and daffodils seemed to appear out of nowhere. It was obvious that someone long before us had loved flower gardening.

When I wasn’t busy helping with the house’s restoration, I devoted my time to the upkeep of its gardens. I learned everything I could about what could grow in western NC, and fell in love with the native wildflowers in the surrounding forests - from wild daises and asters in early summer, to goldenrod covered hills in the fall.

Every year, my garden keeps expanding and growing, as does my love for sharing its flowers.

Designing florals for weddings brings me pure joy. Its hard to explain my gratitude for the couples that allow me to be a part of such an important day of their lives.

When I’m not playing with flowers, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful step-girls. I enjoy playing music with my band-mates in Charlotte, and I love sitting on the porch with my husband and our sweet puppy dog, Koru, while listening to the sound of Wilson Creek down below.
